Everyone has some staples but here are some of my all time (beauty related) favourite things.

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

This highly-concentrated formula is packed with Omega 3, 6, and 9 essential oils to boost silkiness, shine, and manageability. This is a GREAT treatment for your hair. The longer you leave it in the better, sometimes I even leave it on over night and cover my pillow with a towel. I’ve tried a fair bit of products because I love my hair and therefore take care of it, but this is seriously one of the best ones out there. It does have a strong nutty smell so beware.

How you use it: you take this somewhat waxy substance and rub it with your palms until it melts. The oil left on your hands is what you apply generously to your hair. Leave on for at least 30 mins and then wash as normal.

Biosilk Silk Therapy Hair Styling Serum

I’ve been using this serum for a couple of years now and cannot live without it. I use it everyday and it never fails to prevent frizz (even in the rain!) while nourishing your hair. It also smells amazing.

How you use it: I always put it on right before I blow dry my hair. If your hair is slightly damp it will distribute better, it will also protect your hair against the heat. However, you can also use it on dry hair. Style as you normally would.

T.I.PS. Nail Conditioner

I made the mistake of getting gel nails once and as a result my nails were paper thin and super brittle. I almost cried because my own nails always grew long and strong and I thought there was no cure. Then I heard about T.I.P.S. on the Shopping Channel and decided to give it a try. It SAVED my nails. Within a couple of weeks my nails were long and strong again. If you have naturally weak nails I recommend giving this a try.

How you use it: Put on your nails before you get them wet, I do it at night. It will seal the nail and prevent water from getting in. It actually never dries, it’s like an oil so keep that in mind.

Spiced Chestnut Hand Lotion by Williams-Sonoma

I LOVE this lotion, it smells amazing. The only thing is that it’s a seasonal fragrance, so they only carry it in the winter months. I stole this from my mother in law and I’ve used it since. It’s a large bottle and lasts you a long time. It also comes in a hand soap (I also have the soap) and dish soap version, not to mention candles!

Tamanu Oil

This is probably one of the best things I’ve discovered. Tamanu oil is AMAZING for your skin (face especially). It’s all natural and it helps with rashes, dryness, scars, acne, you name it, it does it all. I am always a bit skeptical with these things, especially oils on the face but this oil has dramatically improved my skin. If you do a little search you’ll find tons of reviews from people that have used it and have seen dramatic results. Like all things it does take a bit of time before you notice the difference, but I noticed it in a week. My skin was so smooth and scars/bumps were reduced. It’s really inexpensive and worth the try. You should be aware that it has a strong smell, nutty mostly, but strong. I have a sensitive nose and I didn’t mind it but my husband is not a fan. If you don’t like it for your face this oil is also good for wounds, stretch marks and any other condition of the skin you can think of.

How you use it: apply a few drops directly to your skin, it will spread so you don’t need a lot. I recommend using this at night because it won’t completely absorb, it will leave the skin somewhat oily. Make sure you cover your pillow case, it will stain it! (but it does come off).

Burt’s Bees Peppermint Lip Balm

I am allergic to something in lipsticks, lip balms, glosses, any thing for the lips. What it is, I couldn’t tell you I just know my lips instantly chap when whatever that ingredient goes on them. I tried MANY chap sticks/balms and Burt’s bees is my favourite. It’s the only one that has quickly soothed my chapped lips and well it’s peppermint, enough said. I did try their pomegranate and hated it, but that’s just me. It’s my go to every morning before lipstick application, it works!

Nivea Pure & Natural Anti-age Day Care

Facial cream is another one of those that I’ve tried lots of. I have combination skin and my skin decides to hate creams quite frequently so I’ve never been able to have a ‘staple’. Pure & Natural is the first cream I’ve been able to stick to. It’s almost completely organic and it smells refreshing not prefumey. I wear this under my make up every day and it does not make my skin oily, it’s awesome! My husband also uses it and he hates anything on his face. It’s a great moisturizer and hey, a little wrinkle fighting action doesn’t hurt!

And there you have it, my current beauty favs! What are some of yours?
