I’ve had my jewelry in a bag in my closet for the longest time, it was time I arranged it so I could actually see it! Here’s what you need:
- cork board
- painter’s tape
I purchased a regular cork board at Walmart, it was inexpensive and a good size for me. I’ve seen really elaborate boards where people cover them with fabric and do all kinds of neat complicated designs, I personally don’t like that because I feel like it interferes with your jewelry. You want your jewelry to stand out when you look at it; that being said though, I like a little bit of colour and some stripes
I took my acrylic water based tape and painted some stripes on the board. To get them really even I used frog tape, which is the expensive version of regular painter’s tape. You don’t have to use it but it does work wonders with bleeds.
You can do any kind of pattern, thick stripes, thin stripes, you can mix it up if you’d like. Make sure you press it down really well so it doesn’t bleed, then paint away!
Once I painted as many stripes as I wanted I took some washi tape (that I won from Omiyage by the way!) and added thinner tape stripes for some interest. I didn’t paint these, I just left the washi tape directly on the board.
This was the final result
Last step is to add your thumb tacks and hang your jewelry Very easy and quick project!
